Proposed California DFG Regulations Affecting Retriever Training, Testing, and Trialing

Tuesday, November 08, 2011 8:19 PM | Anonymous

On November 17, 2011 at their public meeting in Santa Barbara the Commission on Fish & Game will be considering proposed regulations that would have an impact on dog training, testing and training uses in the DFG wildlife areas traditionally used by many private trainers and California retriever clubs for hunt tests and field trials.

Information regarding the hearing, the agenda, and a link to the proposed language can be found at http://www.fgc.ca.gov/meetings/2011/111711agd.pdf

The first hearing will be at the Veteran's Memorial Building Auditorium, 112 West Cabrillo Blvd., Santa Barbara, at 8:30 am, Thursday, November 17.

Comments can be emailed to the Fish & Game Commission at FGC@fgc.ca.gov

If you have a concern about this issue we encourage you to write and/or appear at the meeting to oppose adoption of the current proposed language.  We also encourage you to involve your own retriever club(s) and seek their letters of opposition.
